You Might Be Wondering…
Some questions you might have
Is The Grief Club counselling or therapy?
No.
The Grief Club is a structured educational programme that combines practical learning about grief with the reassurance of a supportive community. Many members describe it as therapeutic, but it isn't counselling or psychotherapy.
Do I have to talk about my grief?
No.
You are always welcome to share as much or as little as feels comfortable. Some people speak from the first session, while others prefer to listen until they feel ready.
Can I attend if I'm already having counselling?
Absolutely.
Many people find The Grief Club works beautifully alongside counselling or therapy by providing education, connection and community.
Is Grief Club right for me?
The Grief Club welcomes adults whose lives have been changed by loss.
That may include bereavement, dementia, illness, caregiving, relationship breakdown or other significant life changes.
Whatever your story, your grief matters here.
What if I become upset?
Tears are always welcome.
This is a space where you never have to apologise for your emotions. Your facilitator will gently support you, and you'll always be encouraged to go at your own pace.
I'm nervous about joining a group.
Almost everyone feels that way.
You'll be joining a small group of people who all understand what it feels like to experience loss. Many members tell us they felt more at ease far sooner than they expected.
Do I need to attend every week?
We encourage members to attend all eight sessions wherever possible because each week builds on the last and helps create the trust and connection that makes The Grief Club so special.
If you do miss a session, we'll support you in catching up.
Is there anything to do between sessions?
You'll be invited to complete gentle reflective activities between sessions.
They're never compulsory, but many members find they deepen their understanding and help them get even more from the programme.
How much does it cost?
The Grief Club is a paid eight-week programme delivered in small, supportive groups.
Prices are set by your local facilitator and may vary by location. Payment plans may also be available.
